Conditioning is the training that taught us how to survive inside specific systems: the hegemonic, cis- and heteronormative, imperialist, white supremacist, capitalist patriarchy (h/t bell hooks + Laverne Cox). It shaped what counted as intelligence, what counted as work, what counted as a body worth caring for and what counted as Time well spent, long before any of us had words for it.
Every open center in your chart is a place where that training took root. So the Stellar Report reads each one twice, for what it is built to do and for what it learned to do to keep you safe, and then it gives you a practice for telling the two apart in your own body.

Before you start
It helps a lot. The Moon moves through a whole gate in less than half a day, so a few hours can change a channel, and a channel can change your type or your authority. A birth certificate is the best source, and a relative's memory is the next best. If neither exists, make the chart with your best guess and hold the details lightly.
They come from astrology. The download holds the Human Design calculation, which uses the Sun, the Earth, the Moon, the Nodes and the planets.

Human Design began with Ra Uru Hu (born Alan Robert Krakower) in 1987. It draws on the I Ching, the Kabbalah, the Hindu-Brahmin chakra system and Western astrology, and its 64 gates are the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching. I read it beside the Maya Cosmovision I grew up with, and I name where it comes from because not citing is epistemicide.
